2010 Toyota Venza
The Toyota Venza is ranked 4th in Affordable Midsize SUVs. It receives praise from reviewers due to its functionality of an SUV but its comforts of a midsize sedan. The Venza is Toyota’s “Camry-based crossover.” The Venza is available in only one trim, but is available as an all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive vehicle. On the outside the Venza comes standard with multi-reflector projector beam headlamps with the auto-off feature as well as integrated fog lamps. Color-keyed foldable power outside mirrors is also a standard feature. The windshield of the Venza has UV reduction and there is privacy glass on all rear windows. The rear window is standard with an electric defogger and intermittent wiper. Available options include windshield wiper de-icer, power rear door with jam protection or a panoramic glass roof with front power tilt/slide moonroof.
On the inside the Venza comes standard with CFC-free dual zone automatic climate control system with air filter. The Venza is also equipped with power windows and power locks as well as in-key remote keyless entry system which all comes standard. The 3.5 inch LCD display includes a clock, outside temperature, average fuel economy, average speed, distance to empty and current fuel economy as well as air condition settings. An AM/FM CD player with integrated satellite radio (with 3 month trial subscription), MP3 playback capability, USB port with iPod connectivity, hands-free capability and music streaming with Bluetooth technology and six speakers is all standard in the Venza. Available options include a 6-disc in-dash CD changer with 13 speakers or a voice activated touch screen DVD navigation system with surround sound and a 4-disc CD changer with 13 speakers. For the family friendly option, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with two wireless headphones is also available as an option. The 60/40 split rear seat folds flat for optimal storage space. One available option package includes a back-up camera as well. The Smart Key System with push start is also available in an options package.
The Premium Package #1 comes with leather seats, satin mahogany wood-grain style interior trim, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, the smart key system plus push start, chrome accented door handles, backup camera and anti-theft system. The Premium Package #2 includes all of this plus color-keyed foldable power heated outside mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer. There are also smaller option packages available that will add some more style to the already stylish Venza.
Like all Toyotas, the Venza is equipped with the Star Safety System which includes enhanced vehicle stability control with cutoff switch and traction control, an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. The Venza is also equipped with the Advanced Airbag System as well as driver and front passenger front seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags. This vehicle is also equipped with the driver’s knee airbag which is designed to prevent the driver’s knees from hitting the dash in case of an accident. Front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones, energy-dissipating interior trim and side-impact door beams are additional safety features. In the back seat there are low anchors and tethers for children as well as child-protector rear locks.
The Toyota Venza is appealing to both sedan and crossover shoppers alike. It has all the luxuries of a sedan but can provide the storage and durability of a crossover or SUV.
