2010 Toyota RAV4
Toyota’s small-to-midsize crossover SUV, the RAV4, is roomy, luxurious and powerful. Named one of the Best Family Cars of 2010 by Parents magazine, this four-door, compact sport utility vehicle has the ability to seat seven passengers with an additional optional Split & Stow 3rd Row™ seat and offers considerable cargo space for any family on the go. Accessing the 73 cubic feet of cargo can be done by simply flipping of a lever.
All models are available with either front- or full-time all-wheel drive and the RAV4 offers drivers three different trim levels to choose from: a Base model, a performance-oriented Sport model and a top-of-the-line Limited model. The RAV4 comes equipped with either a 2.5 liter, 179-hp four-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission, getting 22 city miles per gallon and 28 on the highway or a 3.5-liter, 269-hp V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission which gets 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway.
The base level RAV4 comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels—17-inch for the V6—and a limited-slip differential on front-drive models. For comfort and convenience, air-conditioning, cruise control, full power accessories, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, driver seat height adjustment and a six-speaker stereo with CD player and auxiliary audio jack are also standard on the base model.
The RAV4 Sport adds 18-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed bumpers and sportier suspension to the case level standard features. Also available to all Sport models is the Sport Appearance Package which includes a spare-tireless rear door, run-flat tires, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated sideview mirrors and chrome details on the exterior.
In addition to the base level features, the Limited model comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, a hard shell spare tire cover and roof rails. Automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an upgraded satellite radio-ready stereo with a six-CD changer are other extras added to the RAV4 Limited models.
New for 2010 and standard on all RAV4 trims are an anti-theft system and front active headrests. Also, vehicles equipped with the V6 engine or the optional third-row seats come with hill-start assist and downhill assist control.
The RAV4 comes equipped with exceptional safety features including a Star Safety System™—Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Break-force Distribution and Brake Assist. Driver and front passenger seatbelt warning system, Emergency Locking Retractors for all seatbelts, an Advanced Airbag System and engine immobilizer are just a few other safety features that come standard on the RAV4.
The RAV4 offers a variety of packages with features designed to meet your specific needs. The Premium Package includes leather seats, an 8-way adjustable power driver’s seat with power lumbar support and driver and front passenger seat heaters. The Tow Prep Package has a 3500-lb. towing capacity and includes an upgraded radiator, fan coupling and alternator. There are also other extra value packages for each trim that offer features like Daytime Running Lights, power moonroof, Bluetooth® capabilities and Premium Package options.
