2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser
The FJ Cruiser is one of Toyota’s midsize sport utility vehicles. A more modern and rugged version of the Toyota’s FJ40 4x4 utility vehicle from the 1960s to 1980s, the 2010 FJ Cruiser has tough framework and power under the hood that is perfect for just about any off-road adventure. The four-door SUV has a one-of-a-kind look with front doors that are standard-sized and rear doors that are smaller and reverse-opening. The exterior has a two-tone paint job and the interior’s dash features are colored to match the vehicle’s exterior.
The FJ Cruiser offers only one trim, a base level, but gives the option of three different drivetrains, all powered by a 259-hp 4.0-liter V6 engine: a rear-wheel two-wheel drive drivetrain, with a five-speed automatic transmission that gets an exceptional 17 city miles per gallon and 22 on the highway; a part-time four-wheel drive drivetrain with a five-speed automatic transmission getting a comparable 17 miles per gallon in the city and 21 highway miles per gallon; and a full-time four-wheel drive drivetrain, with a six-speed manual transmission, getting 15 city miles per gallon and 19 miles per gallon on the highway. The FJ Cruiser not only has the ability to tackle tough terrain, it can also tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Receiving a five-star rating in driver’s frontal crash test by NHTSA and equipped with exceptional safety features, the FJ Cruiser possesses a Star Safety System™ which includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist. Driver and front passenger dual-stage airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and front- and second-row roll-sensing side-curtain airbags as well as side impact door beams are also standard safety features for the FJ Cruiser. Emergency Locking Retractors are standard on driver and all passenger seatbelts and every FJ Cruiser is also equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and an engine immobilizer.
There are several amenities that add to the vehicle’s off-roading capabilities and come standard on every FJ Cruiser, including 17-inch black steel wheels, multi-reflector halogen headlights, rear hatch-glass window with release lever, tilt 3-spoke steering wheel, an audio system with AM/FM radio, CD player and auxiliary hook-up, map lamps, water resistant seats with adjustable headrests and a rubber-type floor and deck.
The FJ Cruiser offers several optional packages that include additional features to better meet your driving needs. The Convenience Package adds a remote keyless entry system, cruise control, power outside mirrors and a backup camera. The Upgrade Packages include 17-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels, Active Traction Control, a 6-disc in-dash CD changer with eight or nine speakers, leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls and Rear Intuitive Parking Assist and more. Other optional packages include the All-Terrain Package, TRD Package, and Special Edition.
