2010 Toyota Tundra
The Tundra is Toyota’s full-size, half-ton pickup truck. Whether hauling for work or for the family, the Tundra comes in three different cab styles to accommodate every driver’s hauling needs—the two-door Regular Cab and the four-door Double Cab and CrewMax. The traditional Regular Cab comes in the basic Tundra Grade trim. The Double Cab, which is a larger extended cab and CrewMax, which is an extra-large crew cab, offers an additional, slightly more upscale, alternative with the Limited trim. The Regular Cab and Double Cab allow drivers to choose between the standard 6.5-foot and the long 8-foot bed, while the CrewMax, with the largest cab of the three, offers a shorter 5.5-foot bed.
The Tundra’s 236-hp 4.0-liter V6 engine sends power through a five-speed automatic transmission and gets 15 city miles per gallon and 19 on the highway. The new 2010 Tundras also feature a six-speed automatic transmission. These come with a 310-hp 4.6 liter V8 engine, which also gets 15 city miles per gallon and 19 on the highway, or a 381-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine, which gets 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the highway. The Tundra is offered in either two- or four-wheel drive, with electronic, part-time four-wheel drive being offered on all of the V8s. The Tundra can haul up to 2,090 pounds in the truck bed and it has a maximum towing capacity of 10,800 pounds.
Receiving the top rating from the NHSTA in frontal crash tests, the Tundra comes equipped with exceptional safety features including a Star Safety System™—Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Break-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control. Emergency Locking Retractors are standard on driver and passenger seatbelts and the Tundra also provides an Advanced Airbag System. Other safety features that are optional for the Tundra include an anti-theft alarm system and engine immobilizer.
Some other amenities available for the Tundra are front and rear parking sensors with a backup camera, navigation system and power moonroof. Also, an audio system with AM/FM radio, 6-disc CD changer, satellite radio-ready and MP3 connectivity that can be easily controlled at the steering wheel. With the Tundra’s Bluetooth® technology, drivers have the ability to talk on a mobile device with Bluetooth® capabilities, hands-free. The Tundra also allows for dual zone climate control as well as ventilated seats for driver and passenger comfort.
The Tundra offers a variety of packages with features designed to meet your specific needs. The Platinum Package includes advanced features like the navigation system and ventilated seats, plus 20-inch alloy wheels, wood trimmed interior and more. Another specialized package is the TRD Off-Road Package, which provides off-road-tuned suspension, Bilstein® shocks, fog lamps, engine and fuel tank skid plates and other features necessary for an off-road experience. With the Tow Package, the Tundra comes equipped with a tow hitch receiver, trailer brake controller prewire, TOW/HAUL mode switch, a heavy-duty alternator and battery and more. The other Tundra packages offered are: Work Truck Package, TRD Sport Package, TRD Rock Warrior Package, SR5 Package, Color-Keyed Bumper Package, Cold Weather Package, and the Memory Package.
