The 2011 Toyota Sienna is one remarkable minivan. This impressive seven- or eight- passenger family hauler is available in a wide variety of configurations; five different trim levels including a base trim, LE, SE, XLE and Limited, front- or all-wheel drive, and 2.7-liter 187-hp four-cylinder or 3.5-liter 266-hp V6 engines. Getting an average 19 city miles per gallon and 24 on the highway, the Sienna minivan is designed to be just as pleasing for Mom and Dad to drive as it is for the kids to ride.
The base model Sienna seats up to seven passengers and is offered in two-wheel drive with the option of the four-cylinder or V6 engines. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-sliding rear doors with power-down windows, triple-zone climate control, full power accessories and cruise control, and a four-speaker audio system with a CD player and MP3 auxiliary audio jack.
Upgrading to the four-cylinder LE gives you all the base-level features and adds the option of an eight-passenger seating configuration. Heated sideview mirrors, privacy glass, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, a 3.5-inch display with a backup monitor, and floor and overhead storage consoles are additional standard features for the LE.
The SE has a sportier styling with eight-passenger seating. It is only offered in two-wheel drive with the 3.5-liter V6 engine. Some of its sportier features include its 19-inch alloy wheels, lower body skirting, tinted head- and taillights and added to the front of the minivan are foglights, mesh inserts and a larger air intake. The interior adds leatherette upholstery and two speakers to the four-speaker audio system.
With the all- or two-wheel drive, seven- or eight-passenger seating arrangement and V6 engine, the XLE comes with even more advanced standard features. Added to the list of features are a power liftgate, sunroof, triple-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery. The all-wheel drive version also has second-row lounge seats with pop-up footrests.
The most luxurious of the trims, the seven-passenger V6 Limited offers even more improved standard features. The Limited’s added features include a satin chrome front grille, dual moonroof, and towing prep option.
A number of different packages are offered for the various upgraded trims that provide additional features, such as entertainment and navigation systems, Bluetooth® connectivity and other advanced options.
As a 2010 Top Safety Pick for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the 2011 Sienna’s exceptional safety features only adds to the appeal of the minivan.
